The awning is primarily a sun shade device. It is capable of handling a reasonable wind, but should always be stowed at night or in the event of a blustery wind. The single drop down pole does assist with stability in the wind and an additional 2 poles can be added.

Fitting kit consists of:

• 1 x Rear support “Z” Bracket
• 1 x Rear side Bracket
• 1 x Front side Bracket
• 1 x M6 Track plate
• 4 x M8 Stud plates, nylocs and flat washers
• 1 x M8x40 Setscrew with large fender washer
• 1 x M8x20 Setscrew
• 10 x M8 Flat washers (3mm thick)
• 8 x M8 Nyloc Nuts
• 1 x M8 Galvanised Eye Nut

2. Fit the rear side bracket

Mark off a distance of 140mm from the rear face of the tent base frame Draw a vertical line and align the top mounting hole of the bracket over the centre groove Drill through 8mm and bolt into position using a silicone sealer around the holes Get the bracket vertical and tighten the two M8 bolts fully

3. Fit the front side bracket

Mark off a distance of 100mm from the front face of the tent base frame Draw a vertical line and align the top mounting hole of the bracket over the centre groove Drill through 8mm and bolt into position using a silicone sealer around the holes Get the bracket vertical and tighten the two M8 bolts fully

4. Mark off position of the M6 track plate

Measure the distance between the two side bracket mounting holes—it should be approx. 1951mm. Transfer this measurement to the rear of the awning bag measuring from the centre of the fixed rear alum track plate Mark the canvas bag at the back position on slat frame grooves; make two holes with sharp object for 6mm bolt to go through. Slide in two M6 square nuts in to the marked position and attach the M6 Track plate using the flat washers provided between the canvas and the track plate.

5. Fit the awning to the side brackets

Choose a set of holes which allow the underneath surface of the main bracket to end up being approx. 2m from the ground. Using the M8 stud plates, fasten then awning in this position level alongside the tent.

6. Fit the “Z” bracket

Unzip the awning bag and loosely attach the Z bracket to the top rear hole of the main bracket (a hole will already have been made in the canvas bag).

Position the Z Bracket vertically so that it is against the rear face of the tent frame and is not in the way of the tents awning peg hole.

Trim the Z bracket so that it neatly covers the rear face of the tent frame Once happy with the position and that the awning is sitting vertically, drill two 8mm holes through the Z bracket and through the tent base extrusion.

Use two M8 Washers as spacers between the Z bracket and the frame (to ensure that the Z bracket clears the corner weld on the tent) and once siliconed fasten the Z bracket to the tent base extrusion

7. Fit the strap Eye Nut

Open the awning fully—being careful to avoid the canvas snag on the awning main bracket (see awning instructions) On the RHS tent base extrusion, mark off the position of the M8 Eye nut and drill and bolt the supplied eye nut to the base extrusion.

The awning tensioning strap can then hooked to the eyenut and pulled tight. Trim off any excess strap.
